Freelance Income & Traffic Report: August 2018

Freelance Income & Traffic Report: August 2018

Hey guys! Back at it again with my freelance income & traffic report. Happy to say I had my best month of traffic (again!!) in August. I feel like I’m not putting in as much work as I thought I would to get my traffic up, so it’s nice that it has happened somewhat organically. I think starting my newsletter (you can subscribe here) and adding some free products has definitely helped to increase traffic.

In August I also had my best month of leads! I can’t really attribute a clear reason behind this, but I think the “back to school” mentality and coming off of a slow summer meant hearing from a lot of potential clients who had been waiting until the end of summer to ramp up their social media.

I also did my first travel-related collaboration with the Mountain Shadows resort in Paradise Valley, AZ! I had reached out to them a little over a year ago and they told me I was too small at the time. It felt SO good to be able to pitch to them again and be able to work with them this time around. If you missed my post on my stay there, you can read about it here!

I also am VERY excited to announce I will be the new “Queen Bee” for Bumble in Phoenix starting in September! Basically, I’m a city marketing manager for Bumble and will be hosting monthly events around Bumble, Bumble BFF, and Bumble Bizz and will be coordinating partnerships with local bars and restaurants.

Lastly, my expenses were a bit higher this month because I just to back from NYFW!! I had to pay for myself to get there and my expenses while I was in NYC, so some of those charges will be reflected on next month’s report.

Enjoy! xx

My Story

New here? Catch up with a little background on my journey to becoming a full-time freelancer here!

Why Do I Do Freelance Income Reports?

Starting in November, I started doing income reports basically because Melissa Griffyn does them and I look up to her in each and every way haha. I noticed I would ALWAYS read her income reports and they always fascinated me and motivated me to improve my business, sooo here we are.

I pride myself that I am a very transparent person, and I like to think my blog & business reflects that same feeling of trust. With these reports, I can show you guys what worked, what didn’t, and how I re-strategize from month to month. I hope these inspire you to better your own freelance or social media biz – and please let me know if you see areas where I can improve! lol

*I was really skeptical about sharing my income publicly. Would my clients think differently of me? Would they think I’m charging too little or too much? Would my friends judge me? I have chosen to not disclose or itemize my client income. I also don’t disclose if it is pre- or post-tax income. And you guys don’t know my life!! Everyone has different expenses.
