Freelance Income & Traffic Report: May 2018

Want to know the in's and out's of my expenses and income as a freelancer? I've been doing this full-time for 8 months, so click to see how I tackle it!

Whoops! May or may not be writing my Report for May in July… lol. I’ve been busy and when I’m busy I neglect my own content and prioritize my clients’ lol.

MAY WAS HARD.  I had such a great month in April, and then one of my clients notified me at the beginning of May that they were putting in their 30 days notice to “pause” my services. Long story short, they had switched manufacturers and wouldn’t even have enough product to sell anything, so if I were to continue sending people to their website there wouldn’t be anything to buy for a while. So that hit pretty hard and I panicked for a couple days. But then….

I went to the Gritty Leadership Conference with my Dames Collective Team! It couldn’t have come at a better time. I was feeling down and insecure about my business operations and learned a ton about leadership and using data to improve my company’s operations. I met so many inspiring women who opened my eyes to the possibility of business growth ( and maybe even another business someday 😉 ).

Anyways the rest of May turned out fine hahah. You have to go through the bad days to see the good. Read on for my Freelance Income Report (with website traffic, too) for May!

My Story

New here? Catch up with a little background on my journey to becoming a full-time freelancer here!

Why Do I Do Freelance Income Reports?

Starting in November, I started doing income reports basically because Melissa Griffyn does them and I look up to her in each and every way haha. I noticed I would ALWAYS read her income reports and they always fascinated me and motivated me to improve my business, sooo here we are.

I pride myself that I am a very transparent person, and I like to think my blog & business reflects that same feeling of trust. With these reports, I can show you guys what worked, what didn’t, and how I re-strategize from month to month. I hope these inspire you to better your own freelance or social media biz – and please let me know if you see areas where I can improve! lol

*I was really skeptical about sharing my income publicly. Would my clients think differently of me? Would they think I’m charging too little or too much? Would my friends judge me? I have chosen to not disclose or itemize my client income. I also don’t disclose if it is pre- or post-tax income. And you guys don’t know my life!! Everyone has different expenses. I think people are scared to mention or bring up my income if they’ve read these posts so I really haven’t gotten much feedback here, but I’ve noticed people have been copying this style of post, so I’m assuming you guys like it! haha
